\u201cSuccessful Business\u201d continues the selection of materials about successful women in Cyprus.\u00a0Elena Linova Droushoti, a professional speech pathologist, founder and head of kindergartens and speech therapy center DreamWonder, told us about her experience in a rare profession for Cyprus.<\/strong><\/p>

\u2013 Elena, what is your education?<\/strong><\/p>

\u2013 I graduated from the Moscow State Pedagogical University in 1997 with a degree in speech pathology.<\/p>

I must say that I am a speech therapist in the second generation.\u00a0My mother devoted her whole life to speech therapy and defectology.\u00a0And most of the time I learned from her.\u00a0I still use her advice and advice to this day.<\/p>

How long have you been practicing speech therapy?\u00a0How in demand are speech therapists on the island?<\/strong><\/p>

\u2013 The practice was, probably, from the age of 10. First with my mother, then, after graduating from Moscow State Pedagogical University, already professionally.<\/p>

I have been in Cyprus since 2001.\u00a0And since that moment I have been working as a speech pathologist-defectologist.<\/p>

When I arrived here, there were no speech pathologists in Cyprus at all.\u00a0My diploma was sent to Greece for translation, because.\u00a0there were difficulties with the translation of the word \u201coligophrenopedagogue\u201d.\u00a0Unfortunately, even now there are very few defectologists.\u00a0And, basically, they are Russian-speaking specialists.<\/p>

\u2013 How, when and why did you decide to open your first restaurant?\u00a0What prompted this?\u00a0How did you come to the need for business development?<\/strong><\/p>

\u2013 When my daughters were born, it was important for me that they knew both languages \u200b\u200b- both Greek and Russian.\u00a0Of course, I wanted to give them the best, although for this I had to travel from one educational institution to another, third, etc.\u00a0It took a lot of time and effort.\u00a0Therefore, the project of the creative and educational center \u201cRhythm of Knowledge\u201d arose, which then grew into a speech therapy center and a network of kindergartens.\u00a0An important role in the creation of the first kindergarten was played by the parents of my students.\u00a0Many complained that the gardens are open until 17:00, and the working day of mothers ends at 18:00.\u00a0Having time to run to the store after work, cook a full dinner, feed the child, and then also take him to additional classes \u2013 all this was an impossible task for many, including me.\u00a0Therefore, our gardens are open from 7 am to 7 pm.<\/p>

I opened the second garden for families living in the suburbs of Limassol, from Germassoia and Agios Tychonas.\u00a0Due to traffic jams, the time it takes to travel to and from school sometimes reaches 1 hour.\u00a0Therefore, our new garden is located near the highway.\u00a0And, of course, another of its pluses is fresh air and a large territory.

\u2013 For a preschool educational institution, everything must be thought through to the smallest detail.\u00a0Who was involved in creating this space for children?<\/strong><\/p>

\u2013 My husband helps me a lot, his advice is very useful.\u00a0In addition, I am always guided by my experience as a mother and teacher and concern for children to be comfortable.\u00a0And, of course, European requirements and standards.

\u2013 What was especially important for you when opening such a difficult business as a kindergarten?<\/strong><\/p>

\u2013 Create a space that both children like and parents are happy.\u00a0To combine all their desires and give the best start in life to every child.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\u2013 DreamWonder is a garden with a unique speech therapy program.\u00a0Did you develop it yourself?<\/strong><\/p>

\u2013 Yes.\u00a0This is what I have been doing for over 20 years.\u00a0I help children with speech disorders.

Do you work with children with disabilities?<\/strong><\/p>

\u2013 Certainly.\u00a0We never separate children with disabilities from other children.\u00a0Although sometimes it is very difficult.\u00a0But we try and, in contact with parents and teachers, help such children not to feel separate from others.\u00a0We employ such specialists as a speech pathologist, a neuropsychologist, a play therapist and a psychologist.

\u2013 Do you only manage the garden or are you also engaged in educational and \/ or speech therapy activities?<\/strong><\/p>

\u2013 Both.\u00a0Until one o\u2019clock in the afternoon I am the leader, then I conduct an appointment at the speech therapy center.

\u201cNow more than ever, the island needs educational facilities for children of all ages.\u00a0What are the goals (plans) of your business in the short \/ long term?<\/strong><\/p>

\u2013 And this is a secret.\u00a0Hope everything works out!<\/p>

DreamWonder \u2013 dream kindergarten in Limassol<\/strong><\/p>

Children grow up faster than most would like.\u00a0Sooner or later, the time comes when parents realize that mom and dad no longer fill the entire children\u2019s world.\u00a0The kid needs the company of peers to learn to play and communicate, and development to be able to choose his future.\u00a0Preschool time is the most relevant for such purposes!\u00a0And to whom to entrust the development and health of your crumbs?\u00a0Of course, professionals!<\/p>

4 years ago, a kindergarten with a speech therapy bias DreamWonder nursery school appeared in Limassol.\u00a0And in March, on the first day of spring, a new unique pre-school institution of the chain, DreamWonder nursery school Moni, was opened in the village of Moni.<\/p>

Elena, hello! Your kindergarten is quite new. When did you start your work?<\/strong><\/p>

Good afternoon\u00a0Our first garden is already 4 years old.\u00a0It opened on June 1, 2019.\u00a0We opened the second garden in March of this year.<\/em><\/p>

\u2013 Tell us, for what population is the garden mainly designed?\u00a0On local Cypriots or Russian speakers?<\/strong><\/p>

DreamWonder kindergartens are designed for absolutely everyone.\u00a0The first kindergarten is Russian-English (although there are also Cypriots and many English-speaking children), the second is multilingual.\u00a0The main language is everywhere English.\u00a0The new garden has Greek lessons, as well as French and Spanish.\u00a0In the second half, children have the opportunity to additionally study Russian, English or Greek.<\/em><\/p>

\u2014 What is the advantage of your kindergarten over other educational institutions of the city?<\/strong><\/p>

Firstly, DreamWonder is the first kindergarten in Cyprus, which was created for working mothers and fathers.\u00a0We are open from 7 am to 7 pm.\u00a0A gentle approach to bilingualism (first half of the day \u2013 English, the second half of the day of your choice Greek, English or Russian (DreamWonder Limassol)).\u00a0Classes are taught by professionals \u2013 native speakers.\u00a0Music classes are taught by a teacher from the Odeon Cypriot school, gymnastics is taught by the president of the Sparta Artistic Gymnastics Club.\u00a0In our gardens, speech therapy classes are provided with professional speech pathologists-defectologists who have a long work experience in Cyprus.\u00a0The new kindergarten is slightly different from the first one in that we involve additional specialists in the work: a neuropsychologist, teachers of foreign languages.\u00a0Here we will try to provide a variety of additional activities for children on the spot,\u00a0whose parents do not have the opportunity to deliver them to mugs around the city during the day.\u00a0In addition, we have an agreement with teachers in piano and vocals, ballet and dance.\u00a0We are looking for other directions.<\/em><\/p>

What special skills do children get in your kindergarten?<\/strong><\/p>

Children in our kindergarten learn to communicate in different languages, to communicate in an international environment.\u00a0In addition, we try to prepare our pupils for further education in Russian and English kindergartens and schools.\u00a0And in the new kindergarten and training in Greek educational institutions.\u00a0The educational program in English is built on the basis of the Kindergarten curriculum & Preschool curriculum.\u00a0It is built in such a way that a child who does not know English at all can master it fluently in a year.\u00a0Our Russian language training program is run under the Happy Mama Club For Kids franchise.\u00a0It provides for such classes as TRIZ, EIDETICS, fairy tale therapy, speech development and sensory unloading.\u00a0All that is necessary for the dynamic development of the child.<\/em><\/p>

Who works as kindergarten teachers?\u00a0Your recruitment criteria.<\/strong><\/p>

DreamWonder \u2013 licensed kindergartens.\u00a0According to the laws of Cyprus, people without pedagogical education do not have the right to conduct educational activities.\u00a0Therefore, all our teachers are people with pedagogical education and certified diplomas.\u00a0Accordingly, our teachers are professionals in their field with extensive experience working with children.<\/em><\/p>

At what age can children attend your kindergarten?\u00a0Are there any groups for absolutely crumbs, whose mothers are forced to go to work?<\/strong><\/p>

In the kindergarten, which is located in Limassol, a group is open for children from 4 months.\u00a0Since maternity leave for many mothers in Cyprus lasts only 4 months, we accept children from the age of four months.\u00a0In the kindergarten in Moni, we accept children from 2 to 7 years old.<\/em><\/p>

\u2014 How many groups are there in your kindergarten and how many children are in them?<\/strong><\/p>

There are three groups in the Limassol Garden: for children from 0 to 2 years old;\u00a0from children from 2 to 3.5 years old, as well as for children from 3.5 to 5 years old.\u00a0In the new kindergarten, in the village of Moni, groups for children aged 2 to 3 years, 3 to 4 years, 4 to 5, 5 to 7 years.\u00a0Classes up to 15 people.\u00a0In the youngest group \u2013 no more than 6.<\/em><\/p>

\u2014 How many teachers usually lead one group and what languages \u200b\u200bdo they speak?<\/strong><\/p>

Each class has one teacher plus assistants.\u00a0In the morning, native English speakers work with children, in the second half, teachers who speak their native language: Russian, Greek, English.<\/em><\/p>

\u2013 Tell us about your work schedule.\u00a0Do you work on Saturday?\u00a0Or perhaps you have some extra activities.<\/strong><\/p>

Since we are focused primarily on working parents, the kindergarten is open from 7 am to 7 pm five days a week.\u00a0On Saturday and Sunday we do not work, but on request we can arrange weekend and night shifts.<\/em><\/p>

\u00a0<\/em><\/p>

\u2013 What should a child who comes to your kindergarten for the first time be able to do?\u00a0Maybe some special skills are needed?\u00a0For example, go to the potty on your own, speak a particular language, and so on.<\/strong><\/p>

We accept absolutely all children.\u00a0Even special kids who need a special approach and the presence of a special assistant.\u00a0We do not divide children into those who can and those who cannot speak, whether they are needed or not.\u00a0For us all are equal.<\/em><\/p>

How<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0is food in your kindergarten?\u00a0Tasty children are fed?\u00a0We heard that your food is excellent, homemade, which children simply adore?<\/strong><\/p>

Yes, we have homemade food.\u00a0We have obtained a license for cooking on the territory of our kindergarten.\u00a0The menu is prepared by professional nutritionists, and the best chefs cook it.\u00a0I do my own grocery shopping \u2013 every Sunday I go to the farmers\u2019 market, where I buy the freshest vegetables and fruits.\u00a0We feed the children at home, we select the dish that all children will like.\u00a0We have four meals a day: breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.\u00a0For all the crumbs, we provide an additional meal between breakfast and lunch.<\/em><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\u2013 We heard that you also have specialists in the garden to work with special children.\u00a0Tell about it.<\/strong><\/p>

Yes it\u2019s true.\u00a0We have specialists in the garden to work with special children.\u00a0First of all, this is a speech pathologist.\u00a0Also, a specialist neuropsychologist comes to us from Larnaca, who conducts diagnostics, selects individual classes for each child in accordance with the characteristics of his mental or physical development.\u00a0And also conducts neurofitness for children.\u00a0At the moment, we are negotiating to bring specialists who are not enough in Cyprus from Russia or from other countries.\u00a0We also have a play therapist.\u00a0And, of course, we accept all children with tutors.<\/em><\/p>

\u2013 Safety.\u00a0This is perhaps the most important point for parents.\u00a0Not so long ago in Limassol there were cases when children left the garden and no one noticed it.\u00a0How are you doing with this?\u00a0Can a child leave the garden on their own?<\/strong><\/p>

The safety of every child is the main task of our kindergartens.\u00a0We have CCTV cameras in every room and on the street.\u00a0Territories are fenced with high fences, all gates and doors are closed at the level of an adult.\u00a0So it is almost impossible for a small child to escape from the territory of the gardens.<\/em><\/p>

\u2014 Tell us a little about your first project, Rhythm of Knowledge.\u00a0After all, it all started with him.\u00a0Does it exist?\u00a0How it is useful for children and what it includes.<\/strong><\/p>
